This Wednesday, MPs unanimously approved the PS’s request to provide a detailed list of diplomas approved by the previous government and which, according to the current leader, involve costs beyond the budget.
The basis of this demand, according to the Socialists, is the information “released” by the Minister of Finance that “these supposed “unreasonable” expenses were assumed through 40 resolutions of the Council of Ministers and decrees adopted in the period between the dismissal of the previous First Minister and the inauguration of the new government, in the amount of 1,200 million euros”, to which “added 1,080 million euros of emergency expenses and 240 million euros already allocated from the provisional reserve.”
In addition to a detailed list of diplomas determined by the Government, the PS also requests a display of extraordinary expenses approved by the previous Government and mentioned by the current head.
The goal is for this information to be provided to MPs before Finance Minister Joaquim Miranda Sarmento is heard by the Budget, Finance and Public Administration Committee on the issue.
