Representative of the Identity and Democracy (ID) Party Anders Vistisen in an interview given euronews.
“ABOUT It’s not right that there are two right-wing groups, and I think it has more to do with the prominent personalities of some of the major parties than with political differences,” the Danish politician said.
The CRE includes the Spaniards from Vox, the Poles from Lei e Justiça and Irmãos de Itália, while the ID includes the Portuguese from Chega, the French from União Nacional and Alternativa para a Germany.
“There is no greater political division between ID and CRE than what can be seen, for example, between the European People’s Party, the Socialists and the Liberals,” said Anders Vistisen.
The ID candidate believes in the unification of the two far-right blocs in the European Parliament, but not immediately after the European elections. “The presidential elections in France in two years could be a very interesting moment,” he said.
Last Thursday, the European Broadcasting Union announced the exclusion of Anders Vistisen from Thursday’s debate for the presidency of the European Commission.
European elections will take place from 6 to 9 June. In Portugal they are scheduled for June 9.
