Andre Ventura classifies the position of SNS chief executive as “another cauldron”

Chega president Andre Ventura this Wednesday revealed himself to be “structurally opposed” to the position of chief executive of the National Health Service (SNS), which he considered “another can” and “another pile of money to spend”. ”

“We don’t need an executive director of the SNS because we have a health minister, we have a position that is already designed to manage health care. We are creating positions on top of positions unnecessarily,” he said.

Andre Ventura, speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with the management of the Casa de Saúde de São João de Deus in Funchal as part of the campaign for Sunday’s regional elections, reacted to the appointment of doctor António Gandra d’Almeida to replace Fernanda Araujo as chief executive of SNS, the Ministry of Health announced today .

“What I am about to say has nothing to do with the name and the way in which I was known, and the idea that this is an individual with a sense of purpose and a desire to contribute to a public cause has nothing to do with it” , he warned, before dismissing the position as “just another bank.”

Andre Ventura said he did not understand the need for this position, stressing that other ministries do not have executive directors.

“It’s a different political position, it’s a different pot, it’s a different salary, it’s another pile of money spent,” he said, adding that “Dr. Fernando Araujo [agora substituído por Gandra d’Almeida] He was the chief executive of SNS and his health continued to deteriorate over the past two years.”

On the other hand, the Chegi leader called on the AD government to reduce the state’s political positions by 25% by the end of the year, as well as the vehicle fleet estimated at 25,000 vehicles by the same percentage.

On this occasion, André Ventura also addressed the proposal of the President of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, after the revision of the Rules of Procedure, to hold a vote for refusal or rejection in the case of insult or injury, which will be put to a vote almost immediately.

“What I think, frankly, and I’ll try not to be inelegant, is that I think it’s absolute nonsense,” he said, lamenting that the country had “come to a standstill because of some of the statements about the Turks or the atmosphere in parliament.”

Ventura believed that the country had many problems to solve, and therefore criticized the fact that the debate in the Assembly of the Republic focused on names that could be pronounced: “if we can say Turkish, Chinese, if we can say that I saw myself as a Greek, to get here.”

“I would like the President of the Assembly of the Republic to think what he could create in the Assembly of the Republic, because imagine that now, at every moment when any parliamentary group feels insulted or mistreated, it already has protection your honor. , now there is a defense of honor and a vote of refusal,” he said.

The position of José Pedro Aguiar-Branco was conveyed today by the secretary at the leaders’ table, PSD deputy Jorge Paulo Oliveira, who stated that the discussion on the issue of freedom of expression for deputies and its compatibility with the “red lines” in “Regarding speeches” was considered xenophobic or offensive, it was discussed for more than an hour and a half.

An issue that was brought to the leaders’ conference after an incident on Friday morning in a plenary session in which Chegi President Andre Ventura referred to the Turks’ ability to work.

Following this incident, the President of the Assembly of the Republic presented a “dossier” to the leaders’ conference with constitutional principles, the statute of deputies and the rules of procedure concerning the powers of the President of Parliament to intervene.
