A 44-year-old Brazilian man died when the car he was driving collided with a truck traveling in the opposite direction.
The head-on collision occurred near Vimieiro, on the N4 highway, at 14:18 this Wednesday. An INEM helicopter was deployed to transport the victim but was demobilized after the VMER doctor at the Évora Hospital pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Traffic was blocked in both directions.
The causes of the accident have not yet been established, but everything indicates that the car left the lane, which caused a strong collision.
On the scene, between the Arraiolos and Estremoz Fire Department, the GNR and INEM, the VMER of Évora and the SIV of Estremoz, there was a total of 36 operational personnel supported by 14 vehicles.
