Prime Minister Luis Montenegro stressed this Friday that the Portuguese and German governments are determined to “give even greater intensity” to the bilateral relationship, which makes Berlin the second most important trading partner.
On his second official visit abroad since taking office, his first to Germany, Luis Montenegro said the two countries were “very close in terms of the various issues facing Europe.”
“We have every reason to believe in the strengthening of ties in cultural, economic and political relations between Portugal and Germany (…) We both strive to give even greater intensity to the relationship, which from a commercial point of view makes Germany the second most important partner,” – said the head of the Portuguese government.
