Judicial Police (PJ) have detained two men suspected of being part of a group whose other elements have already been arrested that have been involved in assaults and robbing people at a sex scene in Matosinhos, the police said on Tuesday.
The two men, aged 19 and 24, are suspected of aggravated robbery, aggravated theft, breach of physical integrity and causing violent harm, the SP said in a statement.
The two detainees were part of a group, other elements of which had previously been detained by the SP, which was engaged in robbery and theft at a designated sex site in San Mamede de Infesta, in Matosinhos, in the Porto region, he said.
“This group, now disbanded, acted with great brutality, smashing car windows and attacking the victims in order to appropriate the property and money they had,” he said.
According to the SP, given the place and context in which the crimes were committed, some of the victims, out of shame, did not report the situation to the authorities.
Detainees with no professional activity and multiple convictions for crimes against property and physical integrity will be presented to the Criminal Instruction Court (TIS).
