“Portuguese MEPs, namely José Manuel Fernandes [atual ministro da Agricultura], has ensured that autonomous regions such as the Azores are never devalued or discredited in these funds. And I can guarantee, I make here a solemn promise to all Azoreans, that this work will be continued and celebrated in the next legislative body of the European Parliament,” said Sebastian Bugallo.
Speaking as part of a visit to the Viña do Pico protected landscape, Sebastian Bugalho stressed that “a stronger Portugal in Europe and a stronger Europe in the world are impossible without the regional dimension and the Atlantic dimension of the Azores.”
“We have defended the autonomous regions from the very beginning as an integral part of our program, and we will continue to honor this and reflect what has been done in terms of the political legacy of the previous delegation, especially within the autonomous regions,” the AD candidate emphasized, at on the island of Pico, where he was accompanied by the regional leader of the PSD and Chief Executive of the Azores (PSD/CDS-PP/PPM), José Manuel Boleiro, and Paulo Nascimento Cabral, candidate for the Azores and seventh on the list.
