A traffic accident that occurred early this Sunday left one person dead and one seriously injured in Foz d’Egua, municipality of Arganil, a source in the Subregional Command for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of Coimbra told Lusa.
According to the same source, authorities were alerted to the incident at 5:21 a.m., and firefighters, the National Institute of Emergency Medical Services and the National Republican Guard (NRG) rushed to the scene.
A source in the PPR General Command said that it was a car crash in the parish of Piodan.
The 20-year-old driver of the car was killed, and a 21-year-old woman in the car was seriously injured, GNR added.
The GNR’s Road Traffic Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
