Golfer Grayson Murray, 30, died “unexpectedly” this Saturday, the PGA Tour announced in a note posted on its official website. The American was competing in the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas when he withdrew in the second round. Murray has a history of drinking alcohol.
“We were devastated by this news and are heartbroken to announce that PGA Tour golfer Grayson Murray passed away this morning. I have no words. The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a family member, you will never be the same. We mourn Grayson and pray that his loved ones will be comforted,” said Jay Monahan, US District Commissioner, continuing: “I reached out to Grayson’s parents to express our deepest condolences, and they asked me to continue the conversation at this time. They were convinced that Grayson wanted us to do this, as difficult as it was, we wanted to respect his wishes.”
Remember, Grayson Murray already won the Sony Open in Hawaii this season, and this was his second win on the circuit.
