The coordinator of the Bloco de Esquerda (BE) this Sunday accused the far right of being “the new face of the owners of all this” and diverting attention to the “immigrant neighbor” in order to avoid looking at investment funds.
“The power of the far right comes from financial power, which supports the far right. The far right has power because they are the new face of the owners of it all, because they represent the financial elite, the economic elite, economic power, because they are the personification of greed. Greed pays for it because it serves greed,” said Mariana Mortagua.
According to the bloc’s leader, who spoke at a lunchtime rally in Boliqueim, Loule municipality, as part of the election campaign ahead of the European elections, the far right “plays a role of distraction” while protecting and benefiting these “core economic interests.”
