The PSD won again on Sunday the Madeira regional legislative elections in the parish of San Pedro, in the municipality of Funchal, where the leader of the Madeiran Social Democrats, Miguel Albuquerque, was born 63 years ago.

In Sunday’s regional elections, the SDP won 36.13% of the vote and 19 seats in the 47-member regional parliament, with 24 seats needed for an absolute majority, according to preliminary official results.

In second place, the PS received 11 elected, followed by the AKP with nine, Chega with four, SDS-PP with two, and IL and PAN with one MP each. The BE and the CDU leave the Legislative Assembly compared to the previous composition.

Similar to what happened in most of the 54 parishes of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, in the parish of San Pedro the PSD was the party with the most votes with 1,162 votes (31.24%), followed by the PS with 922 votes (24.79%). ).

However, if the SDP lost votes on Sunday compared to the regional elections in September 2023 (285 less), the PS increased the number of votes (38 more) from 884 to 922 (24.09% in 2023 and 24.79% in 2023). Sunday).

The comparison is based on the official preliminary results of previous elections, since the final results published in Diário a República are not broken down by parish.

The third most voted political force in the parish is now the AKP, which in 2023 became the fourth party, doubling the number of votes: it grew from 304 (8.28%) to 611 (16.43%).

Chega fell from third to fourth in terms of votes, losing four votes (she rose from 323 in 2023 with 8.80% to 319 on Sunday with 8.58%).

IL retained fifth position but lost 19 votes, increasing from 165 to 146, while SDS-PP, which ran in coalition with the SDP in 2023, gained 128 votes.

Below the 100-vote threshold, the CDU (PCP/PEV) had 91 votes (compared to 146 in 2023) and the PAN had 70 (it reached 97 in the last regional elections).
