The representative of the Republic of Madeira, Ireneu Barreto, will hear on Tuesday the parties elected in early elections on Sunday, given the urgency of finding a government solution for the region, his office said today.
“Since the results of the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira have become known, the representative of the Republic, given the urgency of finding a government solution that will allow the government program and the new regional budget to be approved as soon as possible. “From now on, we will begin to listen to the parties represented in parliament,” said a note released by the Palace of San Lourenzo.
Party consultation is a requirement of the Constitution (Article 231, No. 3) and the Administrative and Political Statute of Madeira (Article 57, No. 1).
