The head of the PS list for Europeans said this Wednesday that his party’s responses serve to improve the lives of the Portuguese, whether they are represented in the Assembly of the Republic or in the European Parliament.
“We are confident that the Portuguese understand that the Socialist Party’s response is aimed at improving their lives in general. This happens both in the national parliament and in the European Parliament,” said Marta Temido.
The candidate for the European Parliament spoke at a street rally in the city of Braganca, which was joined by PS Secretary General Pedro Nuno Santos and PS President Carlos Cesar.
“There are signs of convergence in this sense, and that is our job,” she added in response to reporters who asked her whether her pro-European campaign would benefit from approval of the PS proposal on the IRS.
“The rest is the work of analysts, with all due respect, the work of those who write about what is happening, but the main thing is that there are measures that are designed to improve the lives of the Portuguese,” he said.
Deputies of the Budget and Finance Committee today approved the PS proposal to reduce IRS rates to level 6, but with the same rates for subsequent levels.
The tenth day of Marta Temido’s campaign was dedicated to World Environment Day with a visit to the urban gardens of the Agrarian School of the Polytechnic University of Bragança.
In this case, the candidate had the opportunity to pick up a “pig” to shave off the weeds on one of the 115 lots and realize that everyone “has a calloused issue about what they do.”
“I have a pen, but working on the ground is much harder and more demanding. It now requires adaptation to a set of challenges in the field of organic production and a balance between agricultural profitability and compatibility with agriculture. which preserves the environment and manages water resources well,” he said.
Marta Temido also dropped her concerns about pesticide use, recalling that European socialists were “virtually isolated in the European Parliament from other political forces more to the right” on the issue.
“He has [os pesticidas] negative impact on the planet and on people’s food security. This is a path from which we will not retreat, taking into account the European Environmental Pact and its balancing dimension,” he concluded.
