A man died this Thursday in an accident with the tractor he was using on farmland in Freiria, in the municipality of Torres Vedras, the local fire commander told the Lusa news agency.
“When we arrived at the scene, we realized that the tractor had overturned and there was a man under it, so they pulled him out and examined him, but he was pronounced dead on the spot,” explained Hugo Jorge, commander of the Torres Vedras fire department in the Lisbon area.
The accident occurred at 11:20.
The body of the victim, a man between 60 and 70 years old, will be taken to the Torres Vedras Institute of Legal Medicine.
There were 10 first responders and four vehicles at the scene, including a Torres Vedras ambulance and resuscitation vehicle, two ambulances and a fire department recovery vehicle, as well as GNR resources.
