The President of the Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque (NSD), expressed this Thursday his readiness for dialogue and political solutions on a parliamentary basis, warning that the regional budget must be approved by the summer.
“We need to approve the budget by the summer. Maintaining the budget on a twelfth basis has negative consequences for everyone,” said Miguel Albuquerque at the inauguration ceremony of the XV Regional Government in Funchal.
The president of Madeira’s executive branch said that “the government under administration is seriously constrained in its decision-making,” stressing that without an approved budget, salary increases and proposed updates for regional civil servants’ positions are being delayed, as are planned tax cuts. other works are ongoing, including the new Central and University Hospital of Madeira.
