Three men were arrested by the Oliveira do Bairro PNP at a crime scene early Friday morning on suspicion of attempting to steal a car in Oliveira do Bairro.
Around midnight, the PNP were alerted to an attack on a vehicle on the public road Rua dos Colégios in Oia. The guards, with the help of a colleague from Leiria, quickly organized a surveillance operation. The suspects were still driving the vehicle but were intercepted near Oyan Station.
Authorities also seized sharp weapons and various materials associated with criminal activity.
The detainees, who have family ties to each other, were charged and given notice to appear in court in Oliveira do Bairro.
