Protesters from the Palestine Liberation Collective painted a Palestinian flag on the façade of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and smashed windows early this Friday morning.
According to a statement from the Palestine Liberation Collective, the façade also had “June 8th” written on it, a reference to the “Unite Against Collapse” march planned for Saturday.
The action was carried out by the group to protest “against the inaction and complicity of the Portuguese government and European institutions in the genocide in Palestine.”
“I confirm that the windows were broken and a Palestinian flag was painted on the facade of the building,” the Foreign Ministry press service confirmed to Luse.
According to the MNE press service, “a complaint has been filed with the competent authorities” regarding the incident.
