Marta Temido believes that fewer than nine members of the European Parliament are a defeat for the country

The head of the PS list from the Europeans said this Friday that the election of fewer than nine members of the European Parliament is not a personal defeat, but a defeat for the country, and reminded that on Sunday you can vote anywhere in the territory.

“Less than nine deputies is not a defeat for me, it is a defeat for the country,” defended Marta Temido during the election campaign in the Mercado do Livramento in Setúbal, accompanied by the third position on the list, Ana Catarina Mendes.

The Socialist Party won the last European elections, electing nine MEPs, which for Marta Temido was already an “outstanding result”.

“We are actually the least important of what is at stake. The most important thing is that the country can continue to move forward. I have no doubt that all the votes of European socialists are votes for a developing Europe, not for Europe.” which is retreating,” he added.

In these final hours of the campaign, the MEP candidate said it was important to “continue to reaffirm the differences in the European Socialists’ project of a progressive Europe” with more housing, income and rights.

“That’s why we will fight until the end,” he said.

Marta Temido also stressed the importance of voting next Sunday from anywhere in the country.

“We don’t look at elections from a utilitarian point of view, and even today here in the market we hear from people who didn’t yet know that they could vote anywhere on Sunday,” he stressed.

In his opinion, in next Sunday’s elections everyone will have the right to vote, especially women.

“Women make up the largest share of the Portuguese population. Women want peace, women don’t want failure and we are all together to improve life in Portugal,” he said.
