This Friday, the PS submitted a request to hear in Parliament the current Secretary of State for Mobility, Cristina Díaz, as part of her departure in 2015 from the PC administration to the AMT.
The statement was made this morning in Parliament by Socialist MP João Torres, who criticized the lack of transparency in the process of paying compensation to the former KP administrator after her dismissal, the speed with which the procedure moved and the proximity of the exit to her replacement. to the Office of Mobility and Transport (AMT).
The socialist recalled that Cristina Diaz’s request for dismissal by mutual consent was addressed to the board of directors of KP on July 22, 2015, and on the same day an extraordinary meeting was held at which the “compensation due to her” was already calculated. due under this termination agreement.”
“On July 23, the KP Board of Directors met again extraordinary to waive the resignation period provided for by law, and on the same day, however, the Secretary of State for Mobility had already resigned from her position as Vice President of the KP Board of Directors and immediately joined the board of directors of AMT,” said the socialist deputy.
And he added: “This was a green transition from CP to AMT with compensation of approximately 79 thousand euros, which is surrounded by a set of political, ethical and legal issues that need to be clarified.”
The case was discussed in the parliamentary committee on economics, public works and housing, where several figures associated with the CP and the government at the time were heard, but for the PS these hearings only “brought further doubts and increased uncertainty.”
“We have an obligation to call the Secretary of State for Mobility and we have an obligation to give her the opportunity to explain herself, and she will have to fully explain herself in relation to this process, given the potentially serious favorable treatment that she may receive,” concluded João Torres.
The newspaper Correio da Manhã reported on April 19 that Cristina Pinto Dias, the current Secretary of State for Mobility, left CP in July 2015 with compensation of about 80,000 euros and later worked as AMT administrator at the invitation of PSD/CDS. – PP government, salary and entertainment expenses amount to about 13,440 euros per month, almost double the 7,210 euros she received at CP.
Over the past few weeks, several figures have provided clarifications in Parliament. The former director of the railway equipment maintenance company, Francisco Fortunato, believed that the €80,000 compensation paid by CP to the current Secretary of State for Mobility was not respected and that the process was detrimental to the public interest.
Former PP President Manuel Cairo denied that he knew in advance about the departure of then-administrator and current Secretary of State Cristina Díaz to the AMT.
Former Secretary of State Sergio Monteiro denied that he knew about the compensation paid to former KP administrator and current Secretary of State Cristina Dias, and assured that there was no approval on his part.
He also ensured that Christina Diaz was not aware of the salary she was going to receive at AMT when she asked to leave CP CP and denied “individual claims” for compensation.
