Between 2007 and 2023, more than 1,100 GNR soldiers took part in several joint FRONTEX operations, “which were aimed at preventing, detecting and suppressing cases of illegal migration, human trafficking and other border crimes, making a fundamental contribution to the protection of human lives”, he said. .

“As part of maritime surveillance and the protection of human life, the GNR has deployed more than 450 military personnel on board various types of vessels since 2007, mainly in joint operations INDALO in Spain, THEMIS in Italy and POSEIDON in Greece,” it said. with a statement.
