Health Minister Ana Paula Martins’ team made the mistake of asking a government official for help after she was involved in a traffic accident near Sobral de Monte Agrazo while she was on an official trip to Coimbra on Friday.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, an official from the Office of the Minister of Health mistakenly told INEM that the accident occurred on the A8 motorway and not on the A10 motorway.
The accident left the health minister, one of the advisers and the driver with minor injuries. Ana Paula Martins and her consultant were taken to the San Francisco Xavier Hospital in Lisbon in a car carried by the Minister of Health, who was returning from the same event.
The driver waited for the trailer to arrive at the scene and was taken to the hospital for examination in the same vehicle.
The minister, councilor and driver were discharged this Saturday.
