An earthquake measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale was recorded this Sunday on the island of Terceira in the Azores, whose epicenter is located about three kilometers from the parish of Santa Barbara, where several seismic events have occurred in recent months.
According to data published by the Azores Center for Seismovolcanic Information and Observation (CIVISA), an event with maximum intensity IV (modified Mercalli scale) was felt in the parishes of Santa Barbara and Doze Ribeiras (municipality of Angra do Heroismo).
The earthquake, which is part of the ongoing seismovolcanic crisis on the island of Terceira since June 2022, was also felt at intensity III in Cerrete, Cinco Ribeiras and São Bartolomeu, as well as in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo.
There are no reports of property damage or injuries reported at this time.
