Two months after Emil’s remains were discovered, there is still no death certificate.

Two months have passed since the remains of Emile, a two-year-old missing in France, were found, and a death certificate has still not been issued. The document can be officially issued only after the completion of analyzes of the child’s remains and clothing.

“In-depth investigations are ongoing. At the moment they do not justify any reports,” Jean-Luc Blachon, a prosecutor at the Aix-en-Provence prosecutor’s office, was quoted as saying on Friday. BFMTV.

Emil’s skull was found in the forest on March 30, and a few days later authorities found the child’s clothes and other bones. The remains were transferred to the Institute of Criminal Investigations of the National Gendarmerie, since then no further information has been received.

Family members still don’t have answers and don’t know what really happened to the child. However, few believe the theory that it was an accident that caused the child to escape from the care of his grandparents on June 8, 2023, the newspaper reported. BFMTV.

“A death certificate will not return the body to the next of kin, and only investigative judges will be able to issue burial permission. Investigators, of course, are trying to clarify the period of death in order to establish the most accurate death certificate possible. This is a long time. This is a sad process, but court time is not family time,” explains the reference judge quoted by BFMTV.
