A 38-year-old man received several cuts to his face with a chainsaw this Friday afternoon in Ganfey, Walesa, while doing agricultural work at home. The victim himself asked the firefighters for help.
The victim was taken to Viana do Castelo Hospital with serious injuries.
The incident occurred shortly after 15:00 in Oliveira da Mosca. The victim called the Walesa Volunteer Fire Department and asked for help. He was working with a chainsaw while doing farm work near his home when he cut himself in the face.
Various resources were brought in, including the VMER medical team from the Viana hospital, which was eventually demobilized as firefighters had already begun transporting the vehicle to the Viana do Castelo hospital.
The male victim, considered a serious casualty, was in “stable” condition and had several cuts to his face, according to a source associated with the rescue efforts.
