Montenegro’s agenda includes a debate on the state of the nation on the morning of July 17.

The Conference of Parliamentary Leaders this Wednesday decided to move the start of the State of the Nation debate from the afternoon to the morning of July 17 due to commitments on the foreign agenda of Prime Minister Luis Montenegro.

According to the representative of the leaders’ conference, Social Democratic MP Jorge Paulo Oliveira, it is necessary to respect the obligations inherent in the Prime Minister’s foreign agenda, which obliges him to leave the country on July 17, with the start of the debate on the State of the Nation, previously scheduled for 15:00 that day, now airs at 9:00.

“It was also decided not to hold plenary sessions on July 10, 11 and 12, so that the last plenary session before the State of the Nation debate would take place on July 4. A plenary session will take place on July 18. the meeting is only for procedural voting, and the work of parliamentary committees will continue until the 26th of next month,” he said.

At the Leaders’ Conference, the President of the Assembly of the Republic announced the resumption of the National Pantheon awards for the writer Esa de Queiroz.

“This working group must monitor the legal dynamics that this process contains so that parliament can take the necessary measures,” he said.

The leaders’ meeting this Wednesday took about two and a half hours.

“Although the meeting took a lot of time, it was mainly about procedural and administrative issues,” explained Jorge Paulo Oliveira.
