“Long live Saint Anthony, long live Saint John, long live Juneteenth and the Restoration,” sang Carlos Payan in a hymn to popular festivals spanning generations. And, according to tradition, Sagres beer was sounded as a repeated “welcome”, which accompanied the inhabitants of Lisbon and all Portuguese at the folk festivals of Lisbon and which sponsored some of the most important festivals of the capital, some of which lasted until the end of June. , also covering the night of St. John (23 June) and St. Peter’s (28 June).
The Sagres beer promotion at Santos Populares this year was based on five important points. The first was the second episode of the successful CMTV section. Giving neighbors a voice. The nine episodes, each 30 seconds long, dedicated to the shopping areas of Sagres, told stories and showed preparations for festivals organized by groups, associations and traders from popular areas of Lisbon.
The initiative followed District decorationwhich took place in the main historical quarters of Lisbon: Madragoa, Bica, Castelo, Graça, Alfama and Sé. In these areas, where the pulse of Santos is strongest, residents and festival organizers placed Sagres beer decorations on their balconies and facades.

Having brought the homes of the people of Lisbon into line with the festive season, we headed towards Spread of pockets and wigsduring the first warm nights of June, at the beginning of the holidays and in the access areas of the five Sagres festivals.
On the eve of the feast of Santo António, June 12, and the big night of Lisbon, the mythical sardines, basilicas and bride wigs, which have been the focus of many selfies and group photos on social networks, were distributed to residents and tourists, national and international, in various strategic access points to the fairs of the historical quarters and several metro stations.

At several Sagres festivals there were also Fanfare Fanfareanimated mascots that bring joy to all dancers wherever they go.
And it all ended with Santa Boleya, two Sagres buses that, with great excitement, transported residents and all visitors of Lisbon free of charge on two different routes, from 18:00 to 2:00, on the night of Santo António, June 12th. Both routes guarantee passage through the Grande Arraial Sagres to Campo Pequeno.
