Nuno Rebelo de Sousa’s lawyer has guaranteed that the son of the President of the Republic will be present at the parliamentary commission of inquiry (CPI) into the case of Portuguese-Brazilian twins being treated at the Santa Maria Hospital, the publication reports this Friday RTP.
According to Rui Patricio, Nuno Rebelo de Sousa “never said that he would not go to parliamentary hearings.” He said “that he was not in Portugal on the proposed dates and would not be soon, but that he would be available to do so in the future if it would be useful,” the lawyer claims.
The son of the head of state “also immediately informed the CPI, so that the CPI knew and could decide whether the hearing was useful, that he would exercise his fundamental constitutional right to remain silent,” the lawyer emphasized.
