Fuel prices are expected to rise again next Monday for the second week in a row. According to market sources, the increase in a liter of diesel fuel could be 3 cents, and gasoline – 1.5 cents.
Fuel prices rose in the week ending Saturday, according to oil sector sources, although the values were lower than initially expected. Diesel fuel rose in price on average across the country by about 2.8 cents, and gasoline by 0.6 cents, the Eco newspaper reported on Friday.
Taking into account the increase expected from next Monday and taking into account the average prices recorded by the Directorate General of Energy and Geology (DGEG) at the end of the week, the cost of plain diesel should reach an average of 1,588 euros per liter. , and simple 95-octane gasoline should also be sold at an average of 1,736 euros per liter.
The averages published by the DGEG already include the usual discounts on promotions and cards, as well as discounts from brands, as well as financial cuts created by the previous government when fuel prices rose sharply after the pandemic and war in Ukraine.
It is important to note that over the past two weeks, a barrel of Brent oil, which serves as the benchmark for our country, has consistently increased from values close to $79 to reach $86 this Friday. This economic data helps explain part of the rise in fuel prices this week and next Monday.
