Skateboarder Gustavo Ribeiro will represent Portugal at the 2024 Paris Olympics on the street side, while Tomás Augusto will represent him on the park side. The official qualification announcement is expected to be made on Monday.
Gustavo Ribeiro took the final qualifying opportunity at the Olympic Qualifying Series in Budapest, where his place is already guaranteed, while Thomas Augusto will make his Olympic debut after reaching the semi-finals, in which he finished 10th.
“This competition in Budapest completed the qualification cycle of the Olympic Games. Only 22 athletes qualified and Portugal received two quotas: Gustavo Ribeiro on the street and Tomas Augusto on the park. The Portuguese Skating Federation sees this as very positive because we have managed to improve the situation compared to Tokyo 2020,” national team coach Paulo Ribeiro told Luse.
