Red Cross massacre in Gaza

“An attack in such dangerous proximity to humanitarian structures located in places known to the parties to the conflict and clearly marked with the Red Cross symbol puts the lives of civilians and humanitarian workers at risk,” the Red Cross complains, recalling that in accordance with international humanitarian law Parties to a conflict must take precautions to avoid civilian casualties, including in humanitarian buildings.

“This serious security incident is the latest of several in recent days. In the past, stray bullets hit Red Cross buildings,” he adds. An Israeli army spokesman said the incident was being investigated.

What is certain is that attacks by Tel Aviv forces in the Gaza Strip have intensified, the latest of which resulted in the deaths of at least 30 Palestinians.
