Main Route 3 (IP3) will be restricted from July 1 to 4 in the area of Santa Comba Dau, with traffic being diverted through Carregal do Sal and Mortagua, Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) announced this Thursday.
“Infraestruturas de Portugal informs that, as part of the work to replace the railway viaduct on the Beira Alta line via IP3 in Santa Comba Dão, it will be necessary to reroute the traffic passing through the worksite,” he explains in a press release sent to the Lusa agency.
Thus, the traffic will be redirected to IC12 [Itinerário Complementar 12] and ER230 [Estrada Regional 230] between 82 and 101 kilometers IP3, from 8:00 on July 1 to 18:00 on July 4.”
Traffic in the direction Coimbra-Viseu will be redirected at the exit onto the IC12 to Carregal do Sal and then onto the ER 230 to Tondela, where it can rejoin the IP3 in the direction of Viseu.
“This intervention aims to replace the existing railway viaduct with a new structure of appropriate size, allowing the duplication and re-qualification of IP3 between the Lagoa Azul and Viseu junctions,” says IP.
In addition to these works on the Beira Alta line, IP adds, “and in order to carry out the bridge work on the Santa Comba Dão Bridge, it will also be necessary to close the traffic between the Vimeiro intersection and the Santa Comba Dão intersection on July 2. from 14:00 to 18:00.”
In the opposite direction, “between the Santa Comba Dão intersection and the Vimeiro intersection, the reduction will take place on July 3 from 08:00 to 13:00”, and “the redirection of traffic will be carried out by Mortágua and will be duly signposted”.
“Once traffic is reopened, the original traffic conditions on IP3 will be removed, with all temporary signs removed and the suppression of the left lane in both directions removed, with traffic on this section of IP3 now operating under normal conditions,” he said.
In a press release, IP calls for “understanding the inconvenience and inconvenience that such situations may cause,” stating that “work and related deviations will be appropriately marked throughout.”
