The President of the Assembly of the Republic said that a plenary inspection will be carried out at the traffic lights on Friday to regulate the timing of the intervention. The system is hoped to be fully operational after the parliamentary recess.
At the end of today’s plenary session, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco announced that the first test of this new system, announced in April, would be carried out on Friday, and said that this test would not include automatic gender cutting for MPs or government members.
“But the green, yellow and red lights could be the first test for each MP to get used to managing their interventions with the light,” he added, noting that “the adaptation of the sound signal is also being studied” to warn speakers that time is running out.
