A 64-year-old man was arrested by the PNP on suspicion of drug trafficking and possession of prohibited weapons in Ferreira do Alentejo (Beja), with the military seizing 208 doses of heroin, it was announced this Saturday.
In a statement, the Republican National Guard said the suspect attended his first judicial interrogation this Friday at the Ferreira do Alentejo court and was placed in preventive detention, the most serious coercive measure.
The man was detained by PNR officers on Wednesday through the Criminal Investigation Center (CIC) of Aljustrel.
As part of the investigation, troopers executed two search warrants for the home and two search warrants outside the home, specifically for an outbuilding and a vehicle.
During the operation, they seized 208 doses of heroin, one dose of cocaine, one dose of hashish, a sharp weapon and 97 rounds of ammunition.
Also seized were 92 euros in cash, two mobile phones, an electric scooter, digital scales and items related to the preparation and packaging of drugs.
Actions included reinforcing the PPR’s territorial posts in Ferreira do Alentejo and Aljustrel.
