The National Federation of Doctors (Fnam) accused the government this Monday of wanting to pay overtime at the price of normal work, without maximum limits until the end of the year, which puts patient safety at risk.
In a statement to which Lusa asked the Ministry of Health to respond, Fnam accuses the authorities of presenting them today with a proposal for a decree-law that “intends to pay doctors for additional work at the price of normal work, without maximum limits until the end of the year.”
According to Fnam, the proposal, presented at a remote meeting to which it was called “in haste” on Friday evening by the guardianship, “once again violates the rules of collective bargaining”, jeopardizes “the safety of patients, condemning doctors to exhaustion”.
