The Portuguese football team returned to work on Tuesday in Marienfeld, their “headquarters” in Germany, to prepare for the duel with France in the “quarters” of Euro 2024, as part of a recovery session for those most used against Slovenia.
Portugal returned to Marienfeld following a 3-0 penalty shootout win against Slovenia in the round of 16 after a 0-0 draw after extra time, and have already started preparing for their game against France in Hamburg on Friday for the quarter-finals of the continental competition.
On a day closed to the media, with the players spending part of the day with their families, the first-team players and the most frequently used substitutes were recovering, while the remaining group, led by coach Roberto Martinez, carried out more intensive work.
The quinas team returns to work on Wednesday afternoon, with training scheduled for 18:00 local time (17:00 in Lisbon), preceded by the usual player press conference at 17:00 (16:00).
The game between Portugal and France is scheduled for Friday at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg and kicks off at 21:00 local time (20:00 in Lisbon).
