In one case, a man who had a private collection worth over €600,000 and wanted to get rid of it signed a contract with a fraudster who was supposed to pay him €250,000. The man kept some of the items, sold them, but never paid the owner. He damaged galleries by signing contracts to buy shares worth over €100,000, and never paid the money.
