Cega has secured the post of vice-president of Patriots of Europe, a group created by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban that will become the third-largest in the new European Parliament, ahead of the Conservatives and Reformists, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the liberals of the Renew Europe party.
Frenchman Jordan Bardella of the National Union, who was defeated in the French legislative elections against the expectations of all the polls, will become president of the organization “Patriots of Europe”, as reported this Monday by the newspaper Euronews.
The first vice president was a Hungarian Kinga Gal. The rest were divided between the Portuguese Antonio Tangier Correa, MEP elected from Czechoslovakia, the Italian Roberto Vannacci (Lega), the Czech Klára Dostálová (ANO), the Dutch Sebastian Steteler (PVV), the Spaniard Hermann Tersch (Vox) and the Austrian Harald Vilimsky (FPÖ).
