One of the two men arrested on suspicion of robbing two elderly people in Ovar, Aveiro district, will await the development of the case in preventive detention, while the other will be given periodic presentations, the PNP announced this Monday.
In a statement, the GNR clarified that the detainees, aged 18 and 24, one of whom already has a conviction for the same crime, were present at the Aveiro court on Friday.
According to the State National Research Center, a preventive measure was applied to one of the detainees, and the other was required to appear at the police station at his place of residence once every two weeks.
Two men were arrested by the PNP on Thursday for robberies in the town of Cortegaza, Ovar municipality.
“As part of the investigation into the robbery, which lasted for a month and a half, the Guard carried out police investigations that allowed them to identify and locate the suspects who stole several items from two elderly people, inside their home,” refers to the same article.
GNR troops executed two house search warrants, culminating in the arrest of suspects and the seizure of several criminal-related items, including an electric car, a lawn trimmer and a pressure washer.
