The Russian attack also hit CrookedZelensky’s hometown.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Monday that its forces had struck defense industry facilities and air bases in Ukraine.
Moscow said the strikes were in response to attacks on Russia. Earlier, the governor of Russia’s Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, said one civilian had been killed and three wounded in a Ukrainian attack on a village.
“This morning, in response to the Kyiv regime’s attempts to damage Russian energy and economic facilities, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a group strike with long-range precision weapons against Ukrainian military industry facilities and air bases of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Ukraine),” Reuters quotes the Russian Defense Ministry as saying.
The Kiev military administration confirmed the Russian attack to the EFE news agency after warning on the Telegram social network of a “massive” attack on “all of Ukraine.”
“Kyiv’s neighbors! Missile strike! Air defense has been activated in the region. Maintain information silence. We ask that you do not record or publish the work of our defenders on the networks. Stay in shelters until the end of the air raid alarm,” the Kyiv Military Administration’s Telegram publication reports.
Zelensky promises retribution
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has vowed to take retaliatory measures after Russia’s missile strike on Ukraine killed at least 36 people and damaged a children’s hospital in Kyiv.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine will meet with the UN Security Council.
