Ventura acknowledges commission investigating INEM-airline relations

President Chegi admitted this Friday that he proposed the creation of a parliamentary commission of inquiry, starting in September, that would affect the contractual relations between INEM and the companies that supply the aircraft, and even admitted that he could potentially move forward.

This position was voiced by André Ventura at a press conference in parliament, where he said that Chega’s first step would be to urgently listen, before the summer break, to the former president of INEM, Vitor Almeida, whom he had backed down in his decision to accept the position after he was appointed by the government a week ago.

In addition to this request for a hearing, André Ventura said that Chega will now demand that all documentation on the contractual relationship between INEM and the companies that supply aeronautical equipment, especially helicopters, be sent to the Assembly of the Republic.

Secondly, after the summer holidays, this party wants to hear the opinion of the new president of INEM, Dr. Sergio Dias Janeiro. And if doubts remain, it will propose the creation of a parliamentary commission of inquiry, if necessary implementing this in a testative manner.

“The seriousness of the facts is based on the suspicions that remain in the air and that are serious, especially regarding the supply of aircraft, helicopters for the INEM service. There were suspicions regarding the last person in charge regarding the payment of expenses by some of the companies related to the supply of aviation resources, and today we know that the current president is resigning precisely because of the direct adjustment that was made regarding the companies that supply aviation resources,” he said.

From President Cegi’s point of view, we may be faced with “a web of interests that links these airlines to INEM, which allegedly caused discomfort to the current president, who left after only a few days in office.”
