A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday by the Northern Directorate of the Judicial Police (SP) on suspicion of child pornography-related crimes dating back to December 2022, the investigative police said in a statement on Thursday.
According to the Accounts Chamber, without specifying the place of arrest, the crimes were committed “using computer platforms,” and “the investigation began with a signal from international organizations regarding the distribution of content related to pornography of minors on Internet platforms.”
The statement added that the exchange was carried out using an account registered in Portugal and that it was later “discovered that the person now detained was responsible for it.”
After attempts to obtain evidence on Wednesday, the SP points out, “several multimedia files (photos and videos) containing pornographic materials involving minors were found on him, in connection with which the 16-year-old young man was detained at the scene of the crime.”
“The detainee, a student with no criminal record, attended the initial court hearing and was subjected to non-custodial coercive measures and forced psychological treatment,” the press release said.
