At the end of the night, a large fire was extinguished in the forest area between the municipalities of Pombal and Ourém, which required the intervention of more than 300 firefighters from various fire brigades, supported by 100 vehicles.
According to the website of the National Directorate of Emergencies and Civil Protection, the fire alarm was received at 16:34 in Eguins, in União de Freguesias de Santiago, São Simão de Litem and Albergaria dos Dose, in the municipality of Pombal, district of Leiria.
Three consecutive fires have caused the media to disperse and the area of the fire to expand. The intensity of the wind has increased the resources on the ground. As night falls, the aircraft, which had been in the fight with up to 11 people, begin to demobilize.
At 22:30 the fire was in the process of being extinguished.
