The President of the Republic said this Thursday that there are diplomas related to the IRS “that need to be adjusted for application this year” and expressed the opinion that after the publication of the decrees, the government will be able to consider this regulation.
“But there is money in two [diplomas] which is related to the IRS, which requires the application of regulation this year because what was regulated had different meanings,” and, he added, “it depends on the government.”
Asked on the sidelines of the ceremony in Paris, where he is due to attend the opening of the Olympic Games on Friday, whether he thinks the IRS tables he unveiled on Tuesday should be applied this year, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa began by mentioning that the diploma with the new IRS rates “was even the most peaceful” and that the question is “whether there are different understandings in different situations and levels.”
