Sebastian Bugallo was prevented from entering Venezuela to observe the elections. The PPE delegation was trapped at the airport and was expelled from the country on another plane.

The delegation of the European People’s Party (PPE) observing the presidential elections in Venezuela, which includes Portuguese MEP Sebastião Bugalho, was first detained at the Caracas airport and then expelled from the country, PPE sources said.

The parliamentarians invited by the Venezuelan opposition were ultimately denied entry to Venezuela and “expelled from the country on another plane,” the same sources told the Spanish news agency. Efe.

EPP sources clarified that the reason for their exclusion was that they voted on a number of resolutions in the European Parliament.
