Five people were left homeless on Monday after a fire that engulfed three houses in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto district, leaving one person slightly injured, a civil protection source told Lusa.
The emergency alert was issued at 21:24 on Monday due to a fire in a residential building in the Union of Parishes of Cercedo and Perosinho, a source from the Subregional Command for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the Porto Metropolitan Region said on Tuesday.
The fire affected three houses, the same source emphasized.
The incident also resulted in minor injuries, which were taken to the Vila Nova de Gaia/Espinho Hospital Centre.
According to Porto Canal, two families were affected by the fire that broke out in the apartment and were relocated by the Vila Nova de Gaia City Council.
There were 27 firefighters on site, supported by nine vehicles, including firefighters from Carvalhos and Zapadores de Gaia.
