TVI returned to the audience leader in July. Media Capital ended the month with a share of 15%, 0.5 percentage points more than NIC (14.5%). This is its fifth victory in seven months – it lost only in January and June. Mention also goes to RTP 1, whose audience share was 11.1%, and RTP 2, which had its best month of the year with 1.8% (it will be easily displaced by August due to the broadcast of the Olympic Games).
These figures mean that TVI was watched by an average of 323,900 viewers every minute of the day, SIC by 312,200 viewers and RTP 1 by 238,900.
In July, a month also marked by Euro 2024, TVI led free television for 17 days, against 10 for SIC and 4 for RTP 1 – in total, TVI has already recorded 134 victories in a year, followed by NIC (61) and RTP 1 (17). Indeed, taking into account the first seven months of the year, the Queluz de Baixo station has an average share of 15.2% (up 0.8 percentage points compared to the same period in 2023), compared to 14.7% (down 0.2 percentage points) for SIC and 10.8% for RTP 1 (down 0.3 percentage points), according to official data provided by GfK, the company responsible for audience measurement in Portugal. On average this season, Channel 4 is watched by 334,400 viewers every minute of the day, SIC by 321,900 viewers and RTP 1 by 238,200 viewers.
