Carolina Joao and Diogo Costa finished 16th out of 470 on the second day of the Olympic Games.

Portuguese sailors Carolina Joao and Diogo Costa finished the second day of the 470-mile mixed race at the 2024 Paris Olympics in 16th place, having finished 16th and 14th in the two races this Saturday.

In Marseille, with a fleet of 20 boats, the Portuguese duo had a less positive day: 14th and 16th places left them with 33 points, seven points behind 10th place, the last one that gives access to the “race for the medals”.

With three days to go before the medal race, Japan’s Keiju Okada and Miho Yoshioka lead with five points, followed by Austria’s Lara Wadlau and Lukas Maher with nine, and Sweden’s Anton Dahlberg and Lovisa Karlsson with 10 points.

There will be two more regattas on Sunday, the first of which is scheduled for 17:05 local time (16:05 Lisbon time).
