The PNP is currently surrounding Bairro Branco in Monte da Caparica, Almada (patrols are creating a security perimeter on Rua da Bela Vista, the main artery of this social area), after several shots were fired from what appeared to be a moving vehicle.
The KM understands that the violent situation occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. A GNR source told the KM that “witnesses saw shots fired from a moving car and there appeared to be a reaction on the sidewalk.” The getaway car is known to be red.
An official source from the same security forces confirmed to the CM that “patrols were called in by members of the public and quickly established a security perimeter.” “We can confirm that 10 shells containing explosive ammunition have been found, as well as the presence of a vehicle with traces of gunshots,” the same official source said.
“We have not confirmed any injuries. When patrols arrived, no casualties were found,” he added. It cannot be ruled out that people injured in the shooting will be admitted to hospitals in the Lisbon metropolitan area this afternoon.
The Setubal Judicial Police have already been called to the scene, as it was an incident involving the use of firearms.
