In Aveiro, the Lions opened the scoring through Gonçalo Inácio on six minutes and extended their lead with goals from Pedro Gonçalves on nine and Giovani Kenda on 24, but the Dragons, in coach Vitor Bruno’s official debut, responded with goals from Galeno on 28 and 66 minutes and Nico González on 64 minutes to send the game into extra time.
In normal time, Porto completed the turnaround with a goal from Ivan Jaime in the 101st minute, which allowed the Dragons to increase their number of Super Cup victories to 24, while Sporting continues with nine.
Galen was considered the best player of the match.
