A woman was detained by prison guards at the Caxias prison on Wednesday morning and turned over to the PSP after she was caught trying to bring drugs into the prison to give to her son, who is being held there. It was the second arrest of women at the prison in 24 hours.
ABOUT CM discovered that the detainee had come to visit her son on Wednesday morning. He had two bags with him: one with food, the other with sneakers. A strong smell coming from the shoes prompted the guards to run a pair of sneakers through an X-ray machine, which allowed them to detect drugs.
Each boot contained a bag of hashish weighing 50 grams in total. The detainee and the drugs were handed over to the PSP.
Contacted CMFrederico Morais, president of the National Union of Prison Guards, believes that this is “an excellent job by the prison guards. Without a doubt, we are doing the work of the criminal police that the union demands from the guardianship bodies and the parliamentary group.”
